The Simpson Lures
Relic Lures

Want to get the attention of the other fisherman in the boat? Then put one of these lures on! Once sold by Cabela’s for a limited time, these lures are pretty cool.
As you cast your shallow diving Homer Lure out, you are thinking “Mmmmmm, deep-fried fish” as you sip your Duff Beer. A fish strikes your bait, and “D’Oh”, you lose him for you were not prepared to set the hook for you had a doughnut in one hand. Maybe a surface lure will work better, so you put on the Bart Lure who skateboards across the surface…enticing the fish to “eat his shorts”. “Ay Caramba!” A big bass snaps the bait! This time, you get the fish to the boat and hold it up to show all your friends. “Woo Hoo!”
If you don’t know who these characters are, you have been living under a rock for the last 3 decades. Since “The Simpsons” television debut on December 17, 1989, the series has broadcast 596 episodes. In 2009 it surpassed “Gunsmoke” as the longest-running American scripted primetime television series. It will begin airing its 28th season in September 2016 (next month), so I decided to make these lures this months “Lure Of The Month”.
